    Diamond Head

These are some of the pictures that were taken at the top of the Diamond Head Crater.  The last time I went there was ages ago, so when my mom was in Hawaii for a vacation last year, I decided to take her up there.  The hike up to the summit was pretty nice, especially the view.  Although I have to admit, I kinda dreaded the walk up the steep stairway.  The first set of stairway was about 74 steps, then it was the narrow tunnel....this time it was lighted.  The last time I was there, it wasn't lighted and it was so dark.  Really creepy....  As we went into the tunnel, my friend kept whispering, 'The way is shut...'  (It's a line from the Lord of the Rings)  I think he fancies himself as Aragon or maybe Legolas.

Then we get to the second set of stairway, which was about 99 steps.  Never look up or look down when you climb the stairs.  The steps are steep and looking down was kinda scary, while looking up when you're at the bottom of the stairs will just make cringe at the task of climbing those steps.

There are quite a few stairs to climb, even after that.  But let me tell you this....when you get up there and you look at the view....the hike and walk up all those stairs, was well worth it.  Its so beautiful.

I don't know if you can see it, but these are the steeps.  Rather steep....

    Looking down.....

Look at the deep, blue sea...

    Waikiki.

Well, since I don't have time to write, I decided to just post some pictures and I hope for the time being, it is good enough.  :)  Till next time....Aloha!

    Just for laughs....

Been really busy with school work and just life coming at me, at an amazing speed.  I just didn't have much time to sit and actually post something to this blog.  It was always, sleep or post something here.....and sleep wins, all the time.  Anyway, on the rare occasions that I'm actually at home with some free time, I managed to take some funny pictures of Diesel.  At least I think its funny.  Thought I should share some of it with you guys.  Hope you think it's just as funny.  :)  And I'll try to update this blog, as much as I can.

I call this the 'Diesel Fro' shot.  Those fur pom pom things on his head are for my hair and Diesel is always sniffing and trying to play with it....coz I think he thinks its his toy.  So I thought it would be funny to put it on him.  What do you think?

This picture, I call it 'The Cheerleader'.  Although I don't think the look on Diesel's face was much of a cheer....more like, leave me alone, kinda look.

This is what I call the 'Money Shot'.  Also known as 'Leave me alone' shot.  Yes....I left him alone after this shot.  :)

Well that is it for now.  Till next time....Aloha!

    Why I love Waikiki....

My plans were to check out everybody's blog and see how everybody is doing....but with the massive load of school work I have for this week, I barely have time to eat.  Yet why am I posting this entry, right?  I am actually cutting into my precious sleep time to share with you guys my favorite picture of Waikiki.  It was taken on the 10th floor of a carpark.  Weird place to find such gorgeous view, but nevertheless, its beautiful.  Taken on a beautiful summer day.  Clear skies with no clouds in sight and the light winds keeping the temp down.  Just perfect.

The pink building on the right is the Royal Hawaiian Hotel...also known as the Pink Palace of the Pacific.  One of my favorite things to do on a lazy evening is dress up with my friends and go over to the outdoor bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.....drink a little mai tai and hear some live Hawaiian music.  They serve my favourite drink there, the 'Pink Palace'.  That is the only place I can ever find that drink.

Anyway....I will try to visit as many blogs I can this week.  Till then, take it easy!  AAAAAALLLLLLOHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!

    North Shore

This was taken a couple years back on my old, trusty camera.  It ran out of battery some while back and I never bothered to get new batteries for it.  Instead I left in my drawer and when I was cleaning out my junk for the move, I came across this camera.  It's been three years, I think, since I last used this camera and I found out there were 19 pictures, captured on this camera.  So I finished the roll and had it developed.  The photos brought back loads of memories....wonderful memories that made me wish I could just turn back the time and go back to that place in time.

My friends and I drove around the island....trying out some local food.  My favorite is the Matsumoto shave ice and the Giovanni Shrimp Shack.  The Matsumoto shave ice is pretty well known with the tourist.  However the Giovanni Shrimp Shack....not so.  The tourist know about it....but there are so many shrimp shacks in Kahuku....most of the time, the tourist just go to the first one they see.  So if any of you guys ever make it to Oahu, go over to the North shore....and try out Giovanni's Shrimp Scampi.  It's to die for!

The pictures above is taken at North Shore....when the waves were down.  So it was pretty safe to go out and swim.  The winter swells here are really high and when the waves are up, you'll see the beach packed with tourist and locals alike, watching the cool surfers surf.  Surfs up Bra!
